A hydraulic bushes hydraulic press crushers can be used to crush cement and rock and also to press dirt, but they’re not as common as they once were.
Now, the United States Department of Energy is making a push to replace the hydraulic press.
According to a report from The Hill, the DOE has spent $10 million over the last two years developing a new design that could be installed in a wide range of hydraulic applications, including hydraulic fracturing.
The company’s goal is to use a hydraulic busher that can press cement and other materials to crush them.
“Our goal is the hydraulic bushers will be able to press any cement, rock, sand, gravel, or whatever they want to crush,” Bill Easley, a senior vice president at the company, told the Hill.
The new hydraulic press could make the company a bigger player in the industry, but the main goal is that it would make it easier to use in other applications, according to the Hill report.
