Electric power company to add hydraulic press block to its fleet

A new hydraulic press, the first to be added to a Tesla fleet in about 10 years, will be used in the Model S and Model X.

Hydraulic press blocks are used to press parts together to produce hydraulic fluid, which is then used to create steam that powers the motor.

Tesla said the new blocks will also be used to separate the electric motor’s battery and the battery pack’s magnetorheological charge generator.

Tesla said the company is now working on making the press blocks available to other automakers.

Tesla plans to release more information about the press block in the coming months.
